"Nissan Could Bring Ultra Cheap Cars to the US" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2008-08-03 12:24:03

These days many manufacturers are competing to create extremely cheap vehicles for emerging markets such as China and India. Nissan is currently working on a small vehicle that should cost only $2,500 to be sold in 2010 for the Indian market. But if Nissan CEO Carlos Ghosn has his way the company will launch their small and cheap vehicle globally. If you’re like us you might be thinking about the logistics of such a move. Ghosn seems to have the answers. For example in order for a vehicle to meet North American crash test standards vehicles require reinforcements. Ghosn promises that such modifications could be added to the vehicle while still maintaining a price tag of around $3,000. Pretty astounding. Production costs would be kept low by outsourcing to Indian motorcycle manufacturer Bajaj Auto whom Ghosn will be convening with next week some time. This entry was postedon Friday. I sold my 2006 Toyota Tacoma and am now driving a 2000 Toyota Tacoma. While it was a bit stressful to do. I don’t regret it one bit. The 2000 has only 55,000 miles on it and should last for quite some time. I ended up getting about what I wanted for the 2006. The check has cleared and the money is in our account. We’ll be using a bit of the funds to get the pelt move back and forth in the lake house completed. Once that is done we’ll do some painting and then we will be doing all the finishing bring home the bacon. At this rate. I hope to undergo occupancy by early spring. It’s nice to look at our net worth charts and see that cars are a very tiny portion of our overall net worth. The less depreciating assets on the books the better. As the lake house is completed. I’m also looking forward to funding my 401K more aggressively. In the past I was contributing up to the IRS annual maximum but have had to pull back from that a bit to use the funds on the lake house. Currently we are only contributing 8% of my income along with the affiliate match of 6%. Contributing 14% to your 401K is pretty decent but it puts us just shy of the IRS maximum so we’ll be trying to increase that soon. I fully plan to turn all of next year’s raise in to the 401K each month. That should easily put us over the attach. I’d like to say I’ve learned my lesson on buying new cars. I’ve had a couple episodes where I bought brand new cars only to sell them less than 2 years later for a loss. How does that saying go. “cozen me once………”. Yeah. I don’t learn very easily when it comes to cars. I think I be to accept a couple things about myself. First. I’m rather indecisive and can easily change my mind on something. Second. I love cars and always will. With this in mind my new goal will be only to buy a car that I know I can sell later and break even on or make a bit of.

I am not an engineer but I undergo always been interested in technological forecasting. In a standard automobile about 25% of the fuel is used to move the be engine drive train and fuel tank. About 74% of the energy is lost in the control train and transmission. Only 1% of the furnish is used to move the passenger and cargo. 4. Leave a space with standard mountings for adding a small engine and furnish store. This could be a light weight internal combustion engine made with ceramic materials a Sterling go engine a fuel cell etc. Because this engine is just used to charge the battery it can be operated at maximum efficiency. India recently announced a $3,000 crowd production car and China followed with the announcement of a $2,500 crowd production car. With 2 billion people looking for cheap cars in India and China we undergo to shift over to a cheap electric car as soon as possible or global warming will really impel into high gear. (Not to mention the threat of wars fought over dwindling oil supplies.) All plausible ideas. To alter the car safe in collisions however we’ll be some more engineering. The old approach is to surround the passengers with strong material that absorbs energy while collapsing. That means more weight and coat. An alternative is to put these lightweight passenger cars on different roads than the SUVs and trucks. That avoids collisions with vehicles that exceed the cars by an request of magnitude.

""How To Find The Best Buy - Cheap Used Cars"" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-30 13:30:07

Buy Cars At sell Prices:There are several options to get the best buy on a used car. Rarely do they bear on just getting "lucky". All of them are going to take a little extra bring home the bacon on your part as a buyer. But of course the payoff in savings is usually well worth it. So let's get right into it and you can pick the option(s) that's best for you. What Is A "Best Buy" Price. Anyway?Okay this is the starting point. You first undergo to have an understanding of what is a "cheap determine" to mouth with. Cars are not like clothing or other products that are retail valued at twice their wholesale cost. The average used car profit at a Dealer is alter around $2,000. You can probably add another $1,000 to this figure by eliminating avoidable Dealer costs such as sales commissions advertising costs rent and other Dealer overhead items. This is accomplished of course by not buying your car from a Dealer. The wholesale determine is a car's trade-in value. That's what cars sell for at Dealer-Only car auctions. For a consumer this would be a "great price" for a car. In my opinion getting this price would make a car purchase "cheap". Getting even a better price than trade-in would be an "outstanding" buy. This also is possible but again it ordain take some work and patience. So a somewhat simplistic approach would be to target roughly $3,000 off of the going sell price. However for a more detailed explanation of trade-in and wholesale car values please see this article on Used Car Cash Values. The Best Alternatives For Finding Cheap Cars:Public Car Auctions: This is probably the best outlet for getting a car below it's trade-in determine and often far below. There really are "cheap cars" at auctions. And anyone can go.. no license is required. These are tip repo government and guard seized car auctions and there are definitely some deals to be had. While learning "how" to buy a car at an auction isn't difficult actually locating them in your area can be. Also finding the exact car you be may take more than going to a hit sell. But there certainly are some great deals for car buyers at auctions. If you think you'd desire to explore this option advance you can take a look at this more extensive piece I've written on using and locating Open-To-The-Public Car Auctions. Car Brokers: Next there are Car Brokers like us. But you should understand what we are capable of and what are our limitations. Most of us purchase vehicles primarily at Dealer-Only auctions. This means we pay the going "trade-in value" for a car. And then because brokers should have much lower costs than a traditional Dealership they can then put a small markup on the car. The result for the consumer depending on the actual price paid by the broker will be a price very near the actual trade-in value for the car. Using a broker however is actually an "easy" method for the car buyer. It takes very little effort because the broker does the bring home the bacon. But if you do the work there are even better deals. Cars Sold By Owner: This is another option where some patient shopping should pay dividends. Search for your car at websites such as AutoTrader com and Cars com. Also check your local newspaper classifieds section. Individuals know they can't sell their cars at the same prices as Dealers because there are no services provided and there is very little recourse available for buyers. At the same time individuals also don't have any Dealership costs to markup for. And with good negotiating and persistent shopping you can find those sellers who just undergo to sell for financial reasons and a great broach is the outcome. experience The "Inside" Techniques: undergo you seen this yet? It's about an Auto Dealer Executive (a Dealership General Manager actually) who depart the industry and then "broke the label of silence" by spilling all the inside tricks and techniques. If you're buying from a Dealership this is strongly recommended for getting the Cheapest determine On Either New Or Used Cars. But nomatter what obtain you use to get your car purchased at the wholesale price.. or better.. always be a smart informed buyer. Always and I mean ALWAYS get the CarFax or AutoCheck History Report of the vehicle. And always have the vehicle mechanically inspected prior to purchase. The bottom line: Getting a "cheap car" or the absolute "best buy" on a car is indeed within your control.. if your own personal circumstance allows it. You can try to get "lucky" by going through the usual car buying routine. But if you alter the measure and put in some extra effort there are definitely some outstanding car savings out there. Best Of Luck. And Happy Car Hunting!

"The Den :: Cheap cars that are worth the cash.... A pipe dream?" posted by ~Ray

So here's the deal i'm pretty much broke from educate payments and i need a car.. Something under say 5 grand.. I'm in Canada but lets say under 5000usd... What kind of cars are actually in my be.. Something that also looks decent.. I've seen some Sunfires on auto sites like a 97 GT going for about 2700 in private deals with 124 thousand km (not miles) are they worth it? or am i looking at tons of nagging issues?Civics would be nice but they still seem to be on the higher end of that price be any ideas? computers electronics and human resources sure lol but cars? i experience bring up all what do you guys suggest?_________________I'm approve to Haunt BB > In your determine range and just for the intend of having reliable transportation look at getting a Toyota anything or a Honda anything. You may end up with more miles on one to act them in your price be but I would rather have a Honda/Toyota with 140,000 miles on it than a Sunfire (or almost any american car) with 100,000 miles. A small two wheel control truck can often be one of the beat buys out there. You are going to get so many opinions asking a question like this. I know for a fact that Cheeze ordain argue with my recommendations!!! Hehehe Personally I've had HORRIBLE luck with Toyota's (had both a car and a truck that I could barely act on the road). The Toyota transport my Dad had when I was in H. S is as measure I knew comfort running though.. so who knows?Yes. I experience a lot about cars as I was a licensed auto mechanic. So I can say.. it can be just a matter of luck on a used car. Be they Domestic or Foreign they both can be lemons or golden. Best thing you can do is:1) Look at the person selling (if you are buying from a person and not a dealer) the car - If they aren't well maintained what are the odds they kept their car maintained.2) If buying from the dealer look at a lot of cars not just the one you be to buy. Look to see what the dealer has done to them. If the engine compartment has been steam cleaned you just lost your beat visual for seeing if there are leaks. So ask what their warranty is if none act looking.3) Check the inside and outside and best you can ask for maintenance records if they have them (If they do you're likely in good cause). If they don't undergo them then you're going to have to act the car into a mechanic and undergo them evaluate the car for you. I would suggest this anyways. There is no question or visual inspection that can find the things that a mechanic can.4) act THE CAR TO A MECHANIC!! Only they can tell you what could be wrong. Things like being able to fasten up to the car's computer system can furnish them a lot of information that is not attainable any other way. As well as they can do compression evaluate analyse the oil and other fluids (brake tranny etc) check the life left on the breaks and hopefully find any possible tranny problems. Because of the finical lay you are in getting a good reliable car is change surface more important and they are out there. Here's another idea.. if you for example have that $5k in cash and you have a job (or other sources of income.. hooking drug dealing stealing from drunks etc...) and you have someone that is willing to co-sign for you... Consider a new car. Nothing conceive of but something like a Kia. Hyundai. Saturn and Ford all have cars under $15K. So if you put $5k down you'd be looking at around $250 a month in payments at most (depending on the deal you can get and the financing you could get 4 yrs of payments for under $200). You're monthly cost will of course be more for the new car but you won't undergo to worry about any problems as you will undergo it all under warranty. You also start establishing your credit which when you are out of school can be a real back up to have some good established credit._________________ Faith is believing when common sense tells you not to - Fred Gailey (Miracle on 34th Street) I accept with Cheeze there are good options for incredibly low priced NEW cars. Sometimes with careful shopping you can order a stripped down cover Ranger pickup with coat surprise mats. FM radio and maybe even remove the bumpers and end up right over 10 grand put 5 down and your looking at NOTHING for a monthly payment. Sometimes you can work a broach with no or maybe under 2% arouse even cheaper monthly payments. change that bad boy off after 5 years and buy something nicer. im looking at a secondary car around the same price.. ive open a lot of vehicles but i think im going to go with a bmw 325i for about 4400.. its an 03 with like 110ish which is fine to me since at that point all of the maintenance issues should be over with for now (hopefully)_________________ You cannot post new topics in this forumYou cannot reply to topics in this forumYou cannot edit your posts in this forumYou cannot remove your posts in this forumYou cannot choose in polls in this forumYou cannot attach files in this forumYou can download files in this forum

"Cheap Used Cars for Sale at Government Auctions" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-08 09:22:08

While it’s possible to get a good deal on a new car it is in the arena of pre-owned or used cars where it is possible to get some really good deals on cheap cars. And there are several ways to buy a cheap used car. One can look through the local newspaper in order to find cheap cars for sale within the area where you be. While the selection of cheap used cars for sale listed in local newspapers is often very limited great deals can sometimes be open especially if you sight a seller who is either lazy or does not experience the value of the car they are selling. Sometimes you can run into trouble buying a used cheap car from someone advertising in the newspaper because the stranger you are buying the car from may be a real miscreant who lies about the car’s history and its instruct. A second way of buying a cheap car is through a used car dealership. Often used car dealerships undergo limited selection in the way of cars you can buy from them. Also used car dealerships may sell the cars they undergo for sale at higher prices than what you could find if you buy a car from a private seller who advertises in the newspaper. However many used car lots and used car dealerships do thoroughly investigate the cars they change. An option to sight cheap used cars for sale that was not available ten years ago is going online to find a car on the Web. There are dozens of Web sites that sell cheap used cars of many many makes and many many models. Some of the cars listed on the sites are being sold at used car lots and some are being sold by private parties. Often very cheap deals can be found on the used cars for sale on the Web. However often the beat used car and the cheapest used car one can find for sale on the Internet is a few states away and this can be a annoy. A fourth way of finding a cheap used car for sale is by going to a car auction and making a bid on a car. Often when cars are repossessed because money is owed on them or they are seized by the government due to criminal or tax evading behavior of the previous owner they are sold at auctions. Repossessed cars bought at auctions can sometimes be very cheap and people can sometimes get exceptional deals on cars when they buy repossessed cars at government auctions. However buying a repossessed car at a government-sponsored sell can be a hassle because auctions are often held inconsistently and infrequently; it is sometimes difficult to be and investigate the cars being sold at sell before they go on the block; and you never quite experience how much a certain car is going to cost at an sell.
